As the voice for independent Captains aboard the fleet, the Union exists for three reasons:

Unity: we believe that by working together independent captains can achieve far more than they can apart. 

Prosperity: by coordinating our exploration and resource gathering activities, we can still recover the prosperity that was lost with Earth.

Liberty: although the UIC is appreciative of the efforts of the fleet military, we believe checks and balances are important in any system. The Union will ensure that Independent Captains & their crew retain their inalienable liberties.
